SPECIFICATION RANGE

What we build

Ranges we hold every day. Anything outside them is possible — it just needs a conversation before the drawing.

Sheath diameterØ6.5 / 8.0 / 9.5 / 11 / 12.5 / 16 mm (tolerance ±0.05 mm)
Sheath materialSS304, SS321, SS310S, Incoloy 800 / 840, copper (water only)
Watt densityAir / dry: 3–8 W/cm² · Oil: 4–8 W/cm² · Water: 8–14 W/cm² · Max 25 W/cm² short section
Voltage / power12–480 V AC/DC · 100 W – 6 kW per element
Length50 – 6000 mm overall, straight or formed; tube bend radius ≥ 2.5 × Ø
Resistance tolerance±5 % or ±10 % at 20 °C, matched sets available for 3-phase
TerminalsFlat pin 4.8 / 6.3 mm, screw M4, silicone or fibreglass lead wire, ceramic bead, ring terminal
Cold zone20 – 60 mm each end (non-heating) to protect seals and terminals
Insulation resistance≥ 100 MΩ at 500 V DC (after 24 h at 60 °C / 95 % RH)
Dielectric strength1500 V AC / 1 s, leakage current < 0.5 mA at 1.06 × rated voltage
FittingsBrass or stainless ferrules, M14 / M18 thread, mounting brackets, ceramic end caps
Operating temperatureUp to 750 °C sheath temperature (Incoloy 840), 450 °C for SS304 continuous
For air fryer programs: the two numbers that pass or fail your type test are the cold-zone length and the leakage current at 1.06 × voltage after the humidity test. We test to IEC 60335-2-9 conditions and send the raw data with the sample, so your lab sees the same numbers we do.
ENGINEERING

What actually decides how long it lasts

Four things we control in the process, and four reasons elements fail in the field.

  • Fill factor decides life, not the wire. Magnesium oxide compacted to 3.3–3.45 g/cm³ conducts heat out of the wire and keeps it away from the sheath. Loose filling at 2.2–2.5 g/cm³ looks identical from outside and fails in year 2–3 with a hot spot and a hipot trip.
  • Watt density margin. Running an air heater at 8 W/cm² instead of 5 W/cm² doubles sheath temperature for the same output. We size the margin to your airflow — not to the cheapest quote.
  • Cold zone length. A cold zone shorter than 20 mm puts full heat into the terminal block. This is the single most common cause of melted caps on air fryers and oven elements.
  • Bend radius and ovality. Forming below 2.5 × Ø thins the outer wall on the bend. We check wall thickness on formed sections, not just at the straight part.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Buyer questions, answered straight

What is your MOQ for tubular heating elements?

200 pieces for a standard size, 500 pieces for a new tooling size. Prototypes and engineering samples are made in 1–20 pieces without MOQ.

How fast can I get a sample to my drawing?

12 working days for a formed M-type or U-type element after drawing confirmation, including hipot and leakage-current data. Air freight to EU / US is 3–5 days.

Can you match an existing element I send you?

Yes. Send the physical sample or a drawing with sheath Ø, overall length, formed dimensions, wattage, voltage and terminal type. We measure and return a dimension report before quoting.

Do you supply 120 V versions for the US and Middle East?

Yes — 120 V, 220–240 V and 3-phase 400 V are all built to order. Resistance is matched to ±5 % so parallel elements share load evenly.

Which standard do you test against?

IEC 60335-1 general requirements, plus IEC 60335-2-9 for toasters, grills and similar appliances, and IEC 60335-2-6 for cooking ranges. Hipot, insulation resistance and leakage current are 100 % tested.
