Instant Water Heater Elements
Tankless Heating Bodies, 2–9 kW

A tankless heater lives or dies on two things: the weld that holds 1.2 MPa of water pressure, and the leakage current after months of thermal cycling. We pressure-test and wet-test every body — not a sample out of the batch.

SPECIFICATION RANGE

What we build

Ranges we hold every day. Anything outside them is possible — it just needs a conversation before the drawing.

Power2 / 3 / 4.5 / 5.5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 kW per body · 220–240 V single phase, 380 V 3-phase on request
ConstructionStainless chamber with built-in tubular element · die-cast aluminium body with embedded element · multi-chamber serial or parallel
Water chamberSS304 / SS316L, Ø38–76 mm, chamber length 150–500 mm, wall ≥ 0.8 mm
PressureRated working 1.0–1.2 MPa · proof tested 1.5 MPa · 100 % of bodies pressure-checked
Element insideTubular SS321 / Incoloy 840, MgO compacted to 3.3–3.45 g/cm³
Surface loadingWater 6–12 W/cm², sized to inlet temperature and flow rate
Flow / dry-burnThermal cut-out pocket 105 / 125 °C, or flow-switch interface wiring
Terminals4.8 / 6.3 mm flat pins, brass stud M4, high-temp 250 °C leads
Inlet / outletBrass or SS 1/2"–3/4" fittings, G / NPT / M thread, O-ring seat machined
Insulation resistance≥ 100 MΩ at 500 V DC after humidity cycle
Leakage current< 0.75 mA at 1.06 × rated voltage, measured with chamber filled (wet)
StandardsIEC 60335-1 · IEC 60335-2-35 (instantaneous water heaters) · CE / RoHS; CQC markings per project
Send the chamber drawing and your inlet water data. Flow rate, inlet temperature and hardness decide the surface loading and whether you need SS304 or Incoloy. We return a dimensioned drawing with element routing and the cut-out pocket position before the sample.

ENGINEERING

What actually decides how long it lasts

Four things we control in the process, and four reasons elements fail in the field.

  • Dry-fire is the killer, not the wire. An air pocket left after installation puts the element at 400 °C+ in seconds. We set the cold zone and cut-out pocket so the seal end never sees chamber temperature — and we test the body dry for 30 s to prove it survives the worst case.
  • Weld seams under thermal cycling. 20–90 °C cycles thousands of times work the laser/TIG seams. Chamber seams are leak-tested at 1.5 MPa after a thermal-cycle conditioning, not straight off the line.
  • Scale in a small chamber. A 6 kW body has a fraction of the water volume of a storage tank, so scale concentrates. Surface loading above 12 W/cm² in hard water shortens chamber life — we size loading to your inlet water, and Incoloy 840 where chloride is present.
  • Terminal end sealing. The pins exit into a damp appliance. Silicone or glass-sealed ends plus a drip loop in the housing keep the leakage current flat over the product's life.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Buyer questions, answered straight

What is your MOQ for instant heater bodies?

200 pieces for a repeat chamber size, 500 for new tooling. Engineering samples of 5–20 pieces are available for type testing.

How long for a sample, and what data comes with it?

12–15 working days after drawing confirmation. Each body ships with hipot, insulation resistance, resistance value, wet leakage current and the 1.5 MPa pressure-test record.

Can you copy an existing body we are already using?

Yes. Send the physical sample or a drawing with chamber Ø and length, fitting threads, wattage and terminal type. We measure it, return a dimension report, and match the electrical values.

Which standard do you test against?

IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-35 for instantaneous water heaters. Pressure per the rated working pressure of your appliance, proof tested at 1.5×.

Do you engrave our rating and brand on the body?

Yes — laser or mechanical engraving of voltage, wattage, pressure class, batch number and your logo is done in-line, at no extra cost for repeat orders.
